How Much Does Pilates Cost in Plymouth? Our Prices, Explained

Why we print the numbers

Most studio websites make you book a consultation to find out what a class costs. I understand the logic, and I still think it is a bad way to treat a person who is standing in their kitchen at 9pm trying to decide whether to try Pilates. So here is every price we charge at our Plymouth studio, what it works out to per visit, and who each option is really for. If you only read one paragraph, read the one about the $99 month.

Group classes

A single drop-in class is $40. Almost nobody pays that for long, because the packages bring the per-class cost down quickly, but it exists for the person visiting from out of town or trying us once before committing.

OptionPriceWorks out toGood for
Single class$40$40 per classTrying one class, or visiting
New client month, unlimited Pilates Principles$99About $12 per class at twice a weekAnyone new to us
10 classes$320$32 per class, six-month expirationOnce a week, or an unpredictable schedule
20 classes$640$32 per class, never expiresTravelers and shift workers
Limited membership$180 per month$30 per class for six classes, extra classes $30 eachSix classes a month, every month
Unlimited membership$275 per month$34 per class at eight, $23 at twelveTwice a week or more

The Unlimited membership also takes 10% off private sessions, massage and anything we sell at the desk, and it lets you take up to one class a day. Both memberships renew on the date you bought them. You can suspend for two weeks or more by emailing us, and you can cancel any time the same way. Late cancellations inside 12 hours are $10. We would rather tell you that now than surprise you later.

The $99 month is the right answer for most people

New clients can take as many Pilates Principles classes as they like for one month for $99. Principles is our foundation class on the Reformer. Nobody skips it, including the marathoner and the person who did Pilates for five years somewhere else, because it is where you learn how our equipment and our cueing work.

At twice a week, that month costs about $12 a class. More to the point, it answers the real question, which is not "what does Pilates cost" but "will I keep doing this." Four weeks is long enough to know. People who finish the month and move on to Reformer 1 almost always pick the Limited or Unlimited membership, because by then they know which days they can actually make.

Private sessions

A private session with a Pilates Trainer is $110, or $1,000 for ten. With a Master Trainer it is $115, or $1,050 for ten. Our Master Trainers have been teaching for decades, and several of them have been with us since we opened in 2007.

Privates are for three kinds of people. Those coming back from surgery or an injury who need the whole hour on their own body. Those with a specific goal, like a golf swing that keeps pulling the lower back or a pregnancy they want to train through. And those who simply learn better one-on-one. Plenty of clients do a handful of privates, then move into group classes once they know their own modifications. That is the normal path, not a downgrade.

Physical therapy

This is the part that surprises people who find us through a Pilates search. We have licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants on staff, working in the same rooms as the instructors.

A PT assessment is $200. After that, sessions are $150 with a physical therapist ($725 for five, $1,400 for ten), $165 with a master level PT ($800 for five, $1,600 for ten), or $120 with a physical therapist assistant ($1,150 for ten). New clients can start with one assessment plus four private sessions for $500.

We do not bill insurance. Our therapists hand you the billing codes so you can submit for reimbursement yourself, and HSA and FSA funds are accepted when they apply. Many clients find that the cash price for PT here lands close to what they were paying in copays and deductibles elsewhere, with the added advantage that their therapist and their Pilates instructor share a staff room.

Massage

A 30-minute session is $60, a 50-minute session is $110, and a package of five is $525. Massage is taxed, and Unlimited members get 10% off. Our massage therapist is also a physical therapist assistant and a Pilates instructor, which is why clients recovering from something tend to book her in combination with the rest of what we do.

What it costs around the Twin Cities

For context, drop-in reformer classes in the west metro generally run $30 to $40, and monthly unlimited memberships at the chain studios usually come in somewhere above ours. The thing to compare is not the sticker but what you get for it. Our classes are small, our instructors have an average of well over a decade of experience, and our Konnector-adapted Reformers are something you will not find at most studios in Minnesota. If a studio is cheaper, ask how many people are in the room and who is correcting your form.

If you are weighing it up, call the front desk at 952-476-0304 or look at the schedule and pick a Principles class. Tell whoever answers what hurts and what you want to get back to doing. That conversation is free.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Pilates class cost in Plymouth, MN?

At Pilates MN in Plymouth a single class is $40, a 10-class package is $320, a 20-class package is $640, and memberships are $180 a month for six classes or $275 a month for unlimited. New clients can take unlimited Pilates Principles classes for one month for $99.

Is a Pilates membership worth it compared to buying classes?

If you come twice a week or more, yes. The Unlimited membership at $275 a month works out to $34 a class at eight visits and $23 at twelve, against $32 a class on a package. Below six visits a month the 10-class package is the cheaper choice.

How much do private Pilates sessions cost?

$110 per session with a Pilates Trainer or $115 with a Master Trainer. Packages of ten are $1,000 and $1,050. Unlimited members get 10% off.

Do you take insurance for physical therapy?

No. We are a cash-pay practice. A PT assessment is $200 and sessions run $120 to $165 depending on the clinician. Your therapist provides billing codes you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement, and HSA and FSA funds are accepted where they apply.

Is there a contract or cancellation fee?

No contract. Memberships renew monthly on your purchase date and can be suspended for two weeks or more, or cancelled, by emailing the studio. The only fee is $10 for cancelling a class inside 12 hours of its start time.

How long before I see results from Pilates?

Most people feel a difference in how they stand and move within the first month of twice-weekly classes, which is exactly why the new client month is priced at $99. Visible changes in strength and posture usually take two to three months at that pace.
