Massage & Physical Therapy

We consider our Physical Therapy team's work a bridge between traditional Physical Therapy and fitness. All of our therapists are Pilates trained, allowing them to integrate the functional movement of Pilates and the restorative practices of physical therapy. Physical Therapy Overview

Our Physical Therapists (PT) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) use their many years of expertise to individually evaluate and identify the source of your problem(s). Our holistic treatment approach encompasses a thorough evaluation, manual techniques, neuromuscular re-education, and Pilates-based exercises. This includes educating our clients on their injury, teaching correct body alignment and integrating these concepts to achieve their functional goals. We have found Pilates-based exercises to be highly effective in achieving that goal.

We include the Pilates Reformer, Trapeze, Chair, and other equipment created by Joseph Pilates.  We also have CoreAlign equipment. This standing functional unit helps the therapists with your alignment, stability, balance and neuromuscular work.

Wearing exercise clothes and a tank top or sports bra under your clothes is appropriate for shoulder, neck and back issues. We have private physical therapy rooms that are separate from the Pilates and CoreAlign areas.

Our state-of-the-art studio features private massage & physical therapy rooms.

Evaluation

Your first one-hour session will be an assessment with a Physical Therapist.  The PT will evaluate your individual needs to develop a personal treatment plan.

Our therapists will need a detailed medical history from you and anything from your doctor that can help with your diagnosis and treatment.

In the state of Minnesota, you are not required to see a doctor in order to begin Physical Therapy. However, a doctor's referral is needed after 90 days. Also, a doctor's diagnosis of the problem is most valuable so our therapists have a better understanding of your issue. Reports or x-rays are also very helpful, so bring those with you to your appointment if you have them.

To access the forms we need before getting started, click on both the "Release and Liability Waiver," and "Health History Questionnaire" below. Please bring them with you to your appointment or scan and return to alexpilatesmn@gmail.com.
